Tuition Rates and Priorities
Tuition for Fall 2008
Starting in fall 2008, the UA’s tuition for resident undergraduates will increase by $450 per year to $5,274. The tuition for out-of-state undergraduate students will increase by $2,350 to $18,408.
Priorities for New Tuition Revenue
New tuition dollars will be focused in three areas: student access to the UA, student learning and student success.
- Student Access: In fall 2006, the UA invested more than $42.7 million in financial aid. With the slight increase in tuition, we will continue to set aside 15 percent of tuition revenue for need-based financial aid.
- Student Learning: Our students deserve the highest quality academic experience. New tuition dollars will allow us to add faculty and maintain our strong faculty-to-student ratio.
- Student Success: New tuition dollars will be used to hire more academic advisors and tutors, to coach students from freshman orientation through graduation.
